DARE Terms of Use
Last updated: September 29, 2026
Welcome to DARE. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use DARE.
1. Who can use DARE
- You must be at least 13 years old (16 in Australia and Brazil, where the law sets that age for social apps).
- If you’re under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission. Under-18 accounts only get safe dares, start as private accounts, and every post is checked more strictly.
- You must give your real birthdate. We use it to keep younger players safe, to apply the minimum age, and to pick the ad rules for your age group, and nobody else can see it.
- One person, one account. Keep your sign-in private; you’re responsible for what happens on your account.
2. Stay safe: dares are never worth getting hurt
DARE is for fun. Never do anything dangerous, illegal, or that could hurt you, someone else, or someone’s property, even if a dare seems to ask for it. Skip it instead. You are always responsible for your own actions and safety. Respect other people’s privacy: don’t film people who didn’t agree to it.
3. Community rules (zero tolerance)
You must not post, send or dare anything that:
- is dangerous, violent, or encourages self-harm, drugs, alcohol (for under-18s) or breaking the law;
- is sexual or nude, or sexualizes anyone, especially anyone under 18;
- bullies, harasses, threatens, or shows hate towards anyone;
- shares someone’s private information (address, phone number and so on);
- is spam, a scam, advertising, or pretends to be someone else;
- breaks someone else’s rights, like copyright.
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Content that breaks these rules is removed, and the account that posted it can be suspended or banned without warning. Content involving the sexual abuse of minors is reported to the authorities.
4. How we keep DARE safe
- Every dare, photo, caption and selfie goes through an automatic AI safety check before anyone else can see it. Videos are checked through still frames taken from them.
- You can report any post, dare or person, and block anyone, in two taps. Reports are handled automatically within minutes: reported content is checked again and removed if it breaks the rules. Pictures that break the rules count against the account that posted them: repeated ones lead to a suspension, and sexual content involving minors to a permanent ban, with the content kept so it can be reported to the authorities.
- Think we got it wrong? Email us and a person will look at it.
- Automatic checks aren’t perfect. If you see something that slipped through, please report it or email us.
5. Your content
You own the photos, videos and text you post. By posting, you give DARE a free, worldwide license to store, show and share that content inside DARE (for example to your friends, or on Discover if your account is public) so the app can work. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep for safety or legal reasons, for as long as the Privacy Policy says. Only post content you have the right to post.
6. DARE+ and purchases
- DARE+ is an optional auto-renewing subscription. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase or, if you start with a free trial, when the trial ends. It renews automatically unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules (reportaproblem.apple.com).
- DARE+ and shop items (like frames, effects and streak shields) are for fun. They never help anyone win: votes are votes. They have no cash value, can’t be exchanged for money, and can’t be moved to another account.
- Prices can change, but a change never affects a period you already paid for.
7. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Me → Settings → Delete account. This deletes your profile, posts, videos, votes and dares. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
8. No guarantees
We work hard to keep DARE running and safe, but the app is provided “as is”. We can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes, and we may change or remove features. As far as the law allows, DARE isn’t responsible for what users post or do, for anything that happens while doing a dare, or for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer laws of your country.
9. Apple
If you got DARE from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple isn’t responsible for DARE or its content, and isn’t responsible for support or for handling claims about the app.
10. Changes
If we change these terms in an important way, we’ll tell you in the app before the change starts. If you keep using DARE after that, you accept the new terms.
